What We Can Do About the Vicious Cycle

Paul Coulbeck

In the raw glare of stone-cold reality, some ideals are dismissed as unworthy of the attempt to attain. Labled utopian ideals and trivialized as immature and naive. Imagine that, ideals being unworthy. I put forth they are worthy; it's just they aren't valued by the detractors. In pursuit of immediate selfish gratification at the expense of others, for what they think is happiness (which really is only fleeting pleasure), the ideals are dismissed as if there wasn't a decision made, no unpleasant consequences to endure and no judgment.

So that we can move forward to the solution to break the vicious cycle, I ask you to use your imagination and your judgement.

Remember the feeling as a child, when you awoke and the morning smiled, it's time for you to feel that way again ... Taj Mahal

Imagine this. You live in a different Canada. A country that recognizes it's the Greatest (most excellent) country in the world, a peoples most other countries would do well to emulate and copy.

Honesty has been restored and prosperity is everywhere. No one has to pay income tax, not business or personal. There is no GST or PST and there are two, not one, monetary systems. The government of Canada (the people) invest in the people through a trickle-up style of monetary policy versus the trickle-down theory of economics. The medical system is top-notch and includes dental and many extras aimed at prevention of disease with healthy longevity and wisdom. Violence and crime are way down due to a lack of economic stress and need for that violent emotional outlet in entertainment. Foods are plentiful and the most delicious and nutritious goodies are available in vast supplies, inexpensively. The environment is being rejuvenated and a feeling of accomplishment and honor pervade the land.

You are no doubt wondering how this could happen. Bear with me (this may be a little technical) and I'll try to give you an overview in a few short paragraphs.

  1. The power to create money in Canada is returned to the Treasury of Canada from the Bank of Canada in accordance with the British North America Act. The money of the nation is created at no interest rate. That stops the National Debt from growing. (91 percent of what we owe is interest; only 9 percent was spent as real money into circulation.)

  2. The municipal taxing bodies, the provinces and territories can borrow money from the treasury at no interest and repay it by taxing it back out of circulation as the public works projects are depreciated over time.

  3. Every citizen of Canada receives a National Treasury Card at birth. This entitles them OAC to special needs at birth, money for education, start-up capital for business investment, home mortgage, auto, furniture and appliance loans. All monies loaned would be on a no-interest rate, easy repayment plan as the goods depreciate. That way monies created are backed by collateral.

  4. There is no income tax because the government has replaced it with a small .002% tax on all business (not personal) financial transactions. The banks and financial institutions are now the tax collector, not business. The taxes are collected when the money is there, from all business transactions including those presently exempt or not taxed. The total tax collected is close to three times greater than at present, at half the cost, cheaply and painlessly. The GST and PST are unnecessary and intrusive, they are gone, as are many others, but not all taxes. Fix the monetary system with treasury-created dollars and a lot of stress and harm is removed from the nation.

  5. In addition to the federal treasury system, introduce the Local Employment Trading System as a secondary means of exchanging goods and services and a more stable two-handled, dual monetary system relieves the stress and harm on the individual Canadian citizen.

  6. We have to look at our expenditures on our social safety net as the investment in our future and our peoples that it is. Let's quit looking at minimum daily requirements and look at optimum vibrant health.

Let's face it, we only have our time on this earth and our health. Lose either one, what else do you have? Your ideals. So let our ideals be freedom, liberty, and responsibility. Let's exercise our freedom to choose. What are our choices? What are your ideals?
